Does anyone else have the issue on the sig x where the clean channel has a constant hiss? The rhythm and lead channel are dead quiet but as soon as I switch to the clean it has a hiss going on even with no switches engaged. It happens with no guitar plugged in as well.

I figured it was a microphonic tube but when I tap on the preamp tubes i don't hear anything. Any ideas?

It is known issue of SigX. Maybe some preamp tubes rolling can make it less audible but it will still there. At least on the one I had.

Mine had it as well; if you lower the mids and treble, it's less audible, but it's a constant, regardless of volume.

I've never noticed it but I'll be at my rehearsal space today so will check for it. It's been my main amp for this group but I mainly live on the yellow channel and use my volume knob.

I remember putting a VOS fender 5751 tube in there and it quieted it up significantly

Another vote to roll some tubes.
My Sig is dead quiet on the clean channel.

I checked for it yesterday. Dead quiet.

As you know, there's no gain on that channel, just volume. The manual states to roll off on your guitar volume a bit to get the best tone.

But it's the clean channel preamp tube. This channel tends to bring out noise and micrphonics of a tube. Solution is to roll some tubes. But really at volumes the amp was intended to be played at, the noise shouldn't be an issue.

That's why I mentioned that the hiss was at a fixed level, regardless of volume.

But it was apparent for me, since I was using it in a home-studio environment. Also why I swapped the internal fans of my Mesa Mark V:25 and Ampeg Micro VR bass-amp for more silent ones.

Kinda late replying sorry guys. I'll try and roll some different tubes in there. Thanks! Anyone else have the same issue?

Thinking about it, That slot is a good place to test out tubes for noise!
