Up for sale is vintage 1988 Marshall 2203 JCM800 horizontal input with David Hopkins 4/5 gain stages Axis MOD!

Updates also include Headfirst (Jason Tong) FX Loop, which is defeatable.

Everything is reversible also, so if someone wants it back to just a stock JCM800, or something else, can be done.

The B+ has been improved also! Early 80's JCMs had a traditional capacitor bank, which had 5 node (Output Transformer, Screens, Phase Inverter, Cathode Follower, and Preamp). Later JCM's had an arrangement that only has 4 nodes and share the PI and Cathode Follower! Problem is, PI is in the power section and cathode follower is in the preamp section! They should be segregated. This amp has been brought back to early-80s spec by separating the screen can cap (originally in parallel)! The result is....better Tone! Jason's clip is below also.

For clarity also....the amp was originally an export to Japan form England and wired for 100V, but since has been moved to the US-taps and running on 120VAC US-power!

I was going to remove the sticker as it can be confusing and gives the impression still on 100V Japan power, but so far left on as was on there originally.

460V on the plates and 330V at the Phase Inverter. Working PERFECTLY! Lo-side is 4 gain stages, Hi-side is 5 gain stages.

As a stock vintage 2203, looks like they go for $2200-3400 all day long!
The MOD from Hopkins ran $600 + $120 shipping, so another $720, fyi.
This didn't include the addition of the Headfirst FX Loop and B+ improvement!
So, very fair price at $2200 including shipping!!

Someone else asked about the transformers if any replaced....NOPE, all 1988 stock! Just inputs changed so set to US-voltage. There is that black voltage selector on the back, but does the same either way, so fixed to US-voltage 120VAC in.

PCB is the stock jm80 board also!
