Yeah, with a few mods both the Meshuggah and the Ceriatone copy can sound much better.

Remember that amp I built that you played at my house? That's what the Meshuggah and the Gargoyle *can* sound like with some TLC lol
That amp was AMAZING!! To anyone who doesn’t know, FourT6and2 is a GNARLY builder of amp. I would say as good as anything out there, no joke.

Agreed 100%. Super easy to dial in, eats boosts like a champ, and gives up that goods at moderate volumes.

Is yours one of the original ones? I had one of the production ones built by Metro and it was just... awful. I built my own version with some tweaks that sounds better. And for what it's worth, all the clips I heard of the original limited run versions that were all black, sounded great. But the amp I had in front of me sounded nothing like that. The one I built does, though. But had to make some tweaks to the circuit as it appeared in the production version. My guess is some changes were made between runs.

One of the originals. I never played one of the production run amps. I heard the Gargoyle had some different things about its circuit in comparison. I don’t know if that was compared to the black amps or production amps or if that was a mistake or choice on part of Ceriatone.

Gargoyle has some unintentional differences compared to the production versions. Ceriatone copied some incomplete schematics from another forum, mistakes and all (just like the Chupacabra).

Mine too is one of the originals. I’ve rolled a lot of tubes through it. My absolute favorite power tube in it is the Ruby 6L6GCMS short bottle. Man, those were ballsy.

I had a friend who had the meshuggah and the Gargoyle and preferred the gargoyle and was actually a bit pissed off that he fell for the marketing.(he was/is a huge Meshuggah fan). He ended up selling the meshuggah and kept the gargoyle for a bit. I let him borrow my molecular for a few weeks with consideration to buy and ended up passing cause he liked the gargoyle more.

Personally I don't like that sound but it irritates me to no end how much shit Nik gets when he is basically doing the same thing other U.S. companies do(tweaking the same circuit as a new product). If Ceriatone was a U.S. company people would be sucking his dick like they do Fortin, Friedman, etc. Although I guess that is changing since before covid their wait times were 3 months.

yeah nik gets shitted on for no reason, ceriatone is good stuff, and i don't understand why people would crap on a dude building good amps at very reasonable prices

good amps, that yes are clones, but whatever everything is derivative so please stop with the copyright or originating policing, it's bullshit

there's difference only in gracefully or humbly stealing other ideas, that's it

there's been more than a few people who've said (more than a few ie i'm not crediting one person for this idea either) if you steal a loaf of bread they'll through you in prison, if you steal everything you'll be made a king,

i hate to credit the bible for much of anything good, but ecclesiastes is right on about the above or whatever i'm expressing, nothing new under the sun so duh it hurts to come to terms with

so yeah, music and it's instruments and any creative product by any type of artist isn't or couldn't be wholly original, it's a take on something that already exists, everything is, it couldn't be anything else or it would be truly alien

thanks for hijacking this thread to something more interesting
