Fulltone OCD and BB Preamp

I have the BB Preamp which I use from time to time, it has excellent tone and gain structure and does not alter my amps tones which I like. I was wanting another gain pedal to add or should I say be more aggressive than the BB Preamp. Take my amp into over the top territory, would the Fulltone OCD do this? If not what would some other good choices be?

There are a lot of pedals I'd check out before the OCD: Lovepedal, Subdecay, MI Audio, Catalinbread, ...i could keep going.

I am not a fan of Fulltone products. The last pedals I had from him (OCD, Fulldrive2) both sounded flat with many amps.

I haven't played any FUlltones pedals. I want to check out the GT500 though. I never had any urge to play the Fulldrive. I'm not a big fan of MI-Audio pedals anymore. The Blue Boy pedals seem to add a little mush IMHO, and the Crunchbox sound like shit to me. The Tube Zone is the only one that I'd still like to try.

Look at the TIM and Timmy pedals. I think they sound better than the BB pre-amp. I have all 3 and I only use the Tim and Timmy. The BB changes the tone and add a mid bump... but it still sounds good for some things.

I really want to try both of those pedals. Do you prefer the Tim or the Timmy???

If you think the Crunchbox sounds like mush, the GT500 sounds like muuuuuuuush.

I found it to be very muddy and just pretty much un-useable on either channel. I really didn't dig it. I did like the OCD V3 though. Still have it.

I think the original Full Drive II is a great pedal....I'm sure the mosfet version is cool as well

I had both those pedals a while back and they work wonderfully together (in the right order) in front of a slightly clean amp.

BB -> OCD sounds killer
OCD-> BB sounds like ass

I will actually have them in loops in my patchmate and would not use them together. Thanks for the input though as it may come in handy!

The BB preamp is pretty cool but I agree with Psychodave, I like my Timmy way better.

Yeah, it's a cool pedal but I'm on a pedal merry-go-round I did sell mine for $135. Now, what next?
