Any amps out there that are fun/easy/forgiving that are not super high gain?

Ooh ooh! My Red Bear MK120 is. It can get fairly high gain though with the intensity switch in and some hot pickups, but not quite modern metal without a boost. Great rock head!

Silver face fenders are pretty fun. I have a vibrochamp that dirties up at low volumes and takes pedals like a champ.

i second that

Still loving my Krank Nineteen80!!
Sounds great with the gain set at noon, very reactive to touch and guitar volume.
Kleen channel is chimey Fender goodness.

I love the dirty channel on the new blackface Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and Hot Rod Deville. Great fun with a nice mid gain tone.

The one on top.....

Fender hot rod deluxe or devile was fun to play through, super dynamic cleans and responsiveness. Gain channel sucked butt once you got it grinding though, at least for rythm

On the cheap:

Palomino V32
Blackheart Little Giant (with decent tubes)

On the pricey side:

Handwired 1974X combo.
Sattelite amps - Never played one, but the clips I hear I love of these simple amps. They just sound like they would be fun to play.

Tweed and blonde Fenders. Vox handwired. Tone King Meteor. Hiwatt's.
