Fx system/ Controller for Rhodes Colossus

I am currently in the market for a fx unit/ controller for my rhodes colossus ... I am thinking either a axe fx ultra/standard or a tc electronics g system .. Both can control my amp and change its channels but the g system can control pedals and display my patches in front of me on the floor . The axe fx unless I get a mfc doesn't have a board and doesn't display patch names . I have heard alot about the g system being noisey and a pain in the ass . I have had axe fx standard and axe fx I liked the fx on them but I can't compare to a g system only a g major and the axe had alot more . Is a axe fx ultra have alot more fx then the g system ? So my question for you guys is if you had a rhodes colossus and needed a controller and fx what would you buy I am open to anything I am willing to put out some hard coin on whatever .
 
If I had to choose from the units you mention, I'd definitely go for the Axe Fx + foot controller. If you can, buy an RJM MasterMind GT. If that's too pricy, you can wait for the coming 10-button MasterMind GT, which is going to be more affordable -yet not that affordable for a foot controller of that size. The G System is only a good choice for the fact that you've got the foot controller and effects processor together. Personally, I prefer having all things separately -that's why my rig's growing bigger and bigger. Damn my luck!
 
I found a axe fx ultra ... Does anyone know how I could use it to control my rhodes ? With a midi cable can it send midi messages to change the rhodes ?

You would program that from your foot controller but yes you can do it.
 
I don't have a foot controller yet .... I need to find one .
 
Check out the Mark L Custom FX-25. Really great Footcontroller!
