Being that I am a collector of all things Lynch & that I am also currently looking for a nice 2x12, I thought this might do the trick. Does anybody have any hands on experience? I've read the reviews, and they all seem to be good. I've heard the model they have now, is the same exact spec to the lynch model..

Also, if anyone has one for sale, pm me. Looking for a nice clean used one at a good price.

Thanks guys!

I had 2.. they are big sounding, but the stock speakers are pretty brutally spiky and brilttle until they are broken in

Absolute killer cab. I think alot of people are turned off by the looks(open metal grill, ugly gray paint on speaker baffle, ports showing)
BUT,8 yrs ago I tried 3 2x12's
VHT
Mesa Recto
And the Lynch.

The VHT had great tight bottom end,but was damn near twice the price of the Genz Benz G Flex.
I left with the Lynch cab.

Sounds great with any amp. Rayneman(a member in here) picked up a used one and his Cameron CCV just roars through it.
Should be able to score one used for well under $400.00 shipped.

But overall did you like it? How was the quality of the build. Do I have to replace the speakers? I have a Peavey 6505 4x12, but sometimes I'm in the mood to downsize and play through a 2x12. Since I like Lynch, I thought this would be cool.

Build quality is fine.
I did notice a few have handles cut into the corners, and other have Marshall type in the sides.
Dont know why they changed that design,,,no biggy.

I sold mine to Lord Tone King a few years ago and he was fine with the speakers(Amp was/is a Splawn Q.R.)

they are pretty cool cabs. mostly just for stage volume feel. nobody mics the ports so you end up with spiky tones through front of house with the stock speakers. I experimented with other speakers GT85K, Vin30, etc. Emi Legends work extremely in that cab, and I can only imagine the WGS veteran would be pretty stellar too

Will match up with a 5150 VERY well. They also liked my Savage 120
I had NO complaints on quality, and I had the old style and new style handles (one of each)
And - as stated in prior post - no one mics the ports so live tone through PA will make you change the EQ

I liked mine until I hated it. Yeah...that kinda thing.

I have the 412 & 212 version and love em both. I did change the speakers in th 412 to WGS ET Veteran 30s & Reaper HPs in a cross and holy shit did it really come alive. Sounds so much more alive and low end like no othe cab that doesnt sound muddy. The only thing I didnt care for was that it was 8 ohms mono and then two 4 ohm taps stereo. I puts some 16 ohm speakers and wired it like a standard marshall cab and it kicks ass now.
The 212 is wired 16 ohm mono and 2 8 ohm taps stereo like a marshall. The 212 sounds awesome with the stock speakers and sounds even better under a 412 marshall mode 4 with Wgs ET 65s & Reaper HPs in a cross. That curently is my favorite cab set at the moment.

Great cab. Played one with Swamp Thangs and it sounded killer - much better than the stock speakers I didn't care for.

Get the "unofficial" sig Lynch amp - the Peavey XXX and it pairs damn well with the G-Flex. Seeing you have the Ultra Plus it isn't that far off from the XXX ;)

Thanks for all the helpful input. Now my next question is, does anybody have one to sell me or know of someone?

I had a g-flex 2x12 it was cool for awhile but, to me it had an exaggerated low end that I found to be too much.

So I just did a quick search on guitar center and used, they go for a range of $349-$399. I did find a few at $299.00

What should I be paying for used, and what did the retail at?

Mine may be sold...I really like the cab...i'm just downsizing and selling most of my gear...but Losyboy23 and BIGKAHUNA both had one for sale here in the classifieds awhile back...maybe send them a message here on rigtalk....if mine isn't sold I'll holler back at ya

i didn't know there were different versions...ha...so not sure  it doesn't say Lynch on it anywhere...how can i tell?

The originals have his signature on the back. George was forced to drop his Genz Benz endorsement when he signed on with Peavey to design a signature amp and cab (Peavey XXX) but that deal fell through. Genz Benz redesigned the GFlex with top corner handles, removed George's name and continue to sell the cabinet to this day. I've had one since 2000 and it's a great cabinet for rock and metal. To my ears it sounds best with a Marshall since it adds a bit more girth to otherwise midrange tone of a Marshall. I too have had a bit of a love/hate relationship with mine...it has to be pushed to come alive!
