Heard about a week ago that G&L was going to cease operations and layed off all employees. Yesterday I was at the local mom and pop shop that I go to to get my guitars adjusted. They're a G&L dealer and they verified that G&L is shutting down. They had a new 2022 USA Fallout on the wall that had never been sold before yet. It had a couple minor blemishes, so I was able to get it for 11 bone$ with hardshell case. The tech is doing a setup on it, but I should have it in a few days.
I also saw a used USA ASAT Special on the web at a close by GC. So I drove down to check it out. It was a '95-'97 3 bolt neck, but in good shape. I was afraid it was going to be a toothpick neck, but it felt good, like a typical Fender neck. The pickups, are ballsy like a brighter version of a P90. The sales dude found a 10% discount he could use, so I snagged it for 10 1/2 bone$ with hard case.
