How to these fellers play together? Looking at picking up the G-Major 2 to run with my 2013 Quick Rod. It's very frustrating turning pedals off and on plus hitting the amp foot switch at the same time. I believe the G-M2 will also switch my clean/dirty and engage the lead boost.

Anyone here using this combo? If so I'd love to hear some first hand experiences.

I could go with the Carl Martin which will switch amp functions as well.

It comes down to if you want a rack or not. If your playing live often I would go with the Carl Martin and just have a pedal board and not a rack AND a board. Also, pedal boards are easier to trouble shoot than racks IMO. I have a rack with a GM2 but before that had a pedal board with the CM. I always thought my tone from the CM board sounded a little better.

I'm currently in the middle of building a new board with pedals but utilizing a Musicomlabs controller instead of the Octaswitch because I'm trying to keep the size of the board to a minimum.

I would prefer rack for cost reasons alone, but personally I need to be able to tweak on the fly and experiment with new sounds in practice, scrolling through menus is a real headache for me. I am currently waiting on an M13 to come in and hope that's going to be my all-in-one solution for modulation and delays that are still very tweakable. I can't speak for the GM2, but the original was definitely not the most user-friendly piece of equipment.

I found a great deal on a new Octa 2. I'm a little worried about the size as well but I think for the price it's a good way to see if I like pedal switchers. I may get the Octa and the at Major and see what I like better. The good thing about both is they wil itch my amp functions.

I like the Gmajor2 a lot, I'd do it over a pedal chain any day. It is super easy to use, and sounds pretty good over all, not as good as a G force, but pretty good. Combine it with a midi board to control it, and you can control your entire rig with it, assuming your amp uses 1/4" jacks to control switching. THe built in relays in the GM2 are awesome.

Just nabbed a G Major 2 fro the classifieds.

You will want to download the Vyzor G-Major 2 application, it makes dialing in patches stupid simple.

I downloaded 150 or so patches from the GM2 forum, you can load them into the GM2 with the editor. You will need a usb to midi box to use the software.

Nice! Thanks!

Hopefully it'll work on my Mac I'm on the newest OS.
