I'm thinking about buying either a g system or and FX8 for home use so I can leave my pedal board at our practice spot.
I was just going to build another simple pedal board with delay, noise gate, tuner etc. but by the time I do it I could just buy a multi processor.
Anyone have experience with either? Used there's not a huge price difference. Do either of them have a nose gate that works worth a crap?
Also wondering if I can channel switch my Diezel head with the midi out.
Any help is appreciated.

I have both. They will both do the job. The Gsystem doesn't have any overdrives but gives you 4 loops to use your own with there own buttons. I think the delays, verbs and chorus sound better on the Gsystem. Very lush. The interface is a bit dated and clunky on the Gsystem compared to the FX8. The FX8 is no slouch and offers more options. The editing software makes it a breeze to program on the FX8. I don't use noise gates so I can't add any input there.

I like them both and you should be happy with either.

The noise gate on the FX8 works great and they can be had pretty cheap now. I’d also check out the
Line 6 HX Effects. They just dropped the price $100

Noise gate on the gsystem is top notch, the editing software not so much.
