Correct. 55hz is a greenback reissue. Doesnt sound half as good as a pre-rola tho.
the Anniversary is kinda sharp and spiky. not my cup.

Although the marketing may say so, the original blackback 30's I have in a cab sound pretty different then the g1230 70th Annie's I have. I prefer the originals as they aren't as harsh. The 70ths are nice sounding but can sound overly bright or harsh depending on what amp you are using, but they cut through extremely well.Ampaddict":2qbz5vxk said:Are the G12H30 speakers reissues of the original prerola 30's that Marshall used in their early cabinets?

I wonder how different they would sound if both were the same age with the same wear?
Good point but I still think the 70th anniv are a brighter speaker no doubt. I have owned them since they came out. Just depends on what amp and setup, they are great for cutting through.Bob Savage":2xnvo6n0 said:joepete77":2xnvo6n0 said:Although the marketing may say so, the original blackback 30's I have in a cab sound pretty different then the g1230 70th Annie's I have.
