Which celestion do you guys think has the tightest bottom end? I have an ubercab with a cross of v30's and t75's and it seems to have a very tight bottom end, which I'm guessing is more due to the t75's....
I've got a few cabs... The UberKab isn't so much "tight" as it is "capable" of handling the lower-end thump of the Uberschalls and TwinJet. If anything I'd say the UberKab offers a pretty massive bottom end, but manages to hold it together and doesn't flub out or choke. If I wanted to thin it up, I'd go for G12M Greenbacks - period. They're a great speaker for everything "rock" and even "heavy". They're thinner on the low end, which is fine especially if you're gigging with a bassist or even another guitarist, too much low end on the stage just muddies everything up. So Greenbacks get my vote for tight bottom ends.
If you need coloration in the tone, maybe one of the Creams, even though I found the 65 to be scooped sounding to my ears with my amps with my cabs. V30s, K100s, Cream75s, Greens, and yes, in the case of the UberKab and ONLY the UberKab, seems the 75s are good in that mix in that cab. YMMV. I love the UberKab with 30/75s crossed - I run my TJ, Uber, and Butterslax through it. Cab sounds incredible. Doesn't sound as good with my XTC, Shiva or JJ100...I prefer G12M/V30 with those amps.
Greenies to slim that fat bottom end. Or, seeing as we're mentioning "Fat Bottom", the Fryette "Deliverance" is my fave Fryette cab (they can be found super cheap too!!) with P50E speakers. The P50E are great once their broken in - and yes, this requires time and SPLs - unless you want a break-in trick that I use... But whatever, GREAT cabs, the D412 disperses the sound way more than the FatBottom 412, and the speakers are easily swapped out being front mounted. I have two Deliverance cabs - one with stock (and broken in P50Es) and the other with newly installed V30/G12M Greenbacks. It's my newest fave cab for almost all my amps...even running the low-end-heavy Butterslax through it at times and love the results for everything except true pure nuclear powered sonic mayhem. I leave this style of music to my Bogner OS412 loaded with V30s and my UberKab.
