G12M-25 Versions?

I've had 4 different versions:
GB RI, China & UK
6402 cones
Heritage/EVH
Greyback RIC cones

My fav are the GB RI. Have a 4x12 loaded with the UKs. Best sounding cab I've had.
6402s were too dark unless pushed, like G12-65s.
Heritage were too smooth, less punchy, but good of you need a quieter speaker.
RICs, they had that vintage vibe going on. 2nd fav. They had a sound, not as versatile. Probably my fav if I could always crank it.

Thoughts on reissue Chinese vs UK?

I contacted Scumback and he said he makes a version of the T1511’s I liked. I still have two that were reconed by another company about 20 years ago. Have hated them ever since, may let him try reconing them again and then buy a couple of his for my old cab. Then get a 65 watt pair for my 212 cab.
Scumbackmakes the best cone and do the best re-cone for those Pulsonic era Greenbacks. I would imagine you're going to like it.

I hate those. I would never spend the money on speakers I know I will smoke. If they could handle more power that might be worth it but it's not.
They actually do take a lot of punishment. Not as much as the 25 or 30 watts, for obvious reasons, but they are not a fragile speaker by any means.
Especially you running a master volume amp, with both master and gain bellow 2:00, you should be fine with them. I've been using them with a 65 JTM-45 and a 67 50w JMP, both on 10 all the time, or two cabs with a 66 JTM45-100(output measured at 180w) cracked, all that for almost 20 years and they are just fine.
Again, as long as you don't run a 100 head with everything on 10, or a very loud amp with a fuzz pedal(speaker voice coils absolute hate square wave), you'll be fine.
Well, EVH never blew the ones in his main 4x12, that he owns since VH-1. And those were his all time fave speakers. The G12m-20 75 hz.
