Anyone own these back in the 80s/90s. It was my first amp, the GK 250 ML and I'm seriously thinking of buying one for nostalgia. Loud little sucker with on board chorus and echo.

No longer have one but they sounded cool as hell. I have the single space rackmount preamp now...I never use it but it does the 250 ML sounds and a whole lot more. I may have to break it out.

I did not own one but used one many times .... I remember liking them.

It's 80's era Rush in a lunchbox...

So you're saying it sounds like someone with a clogged up nose speaking through a broken megaphone?

I'm not talking about Geddy, I'm talking about Alex's guitar tone on those albums. Holy mids!

I would never dial in an amp like that, but for some reason it works with their music - love it!

No retracting. Alex and Ged will see your comments. Not sure what night it will be. Hopefully the same as when you buy me dinner. I can introduce you as the megaphone guy :D

Shit, now I have to pick up the dinner tab as well? Oh the humanity!....

I used a 250 RL for my clean tone back in the day. They were kinda cool, for what they were. IIRC they were used alot on Iron Maiden's Somewhere In Time album.

I traded my JCM 800 combo for one back in the day. Went full circle and traded it back for JCM 800 head. Was a very cool little amp.
Sounded good cranked through a 4x12

I have a friend who has 2. One is the lunchbox model, the other is a head, not sure the exact models. The lunchbox version sounds terrible, IMO. The head sounds pretty good through a 410 cab he has, but is not the most versatile amp. These are his only amps and he gigs with them.....

I seem to remember it was SSoaSS they used the GK's...?

Just remembered I did one recording way way back in the turn of the century with the 250. It's got it's own sound going that's for sure. Didn't think I'd need one then and haven't been thinking of getting one now either :).
