Just wondering what are some of the more rare pieces you own/would like to own but had a hard time finding one or having $ at the time. Maybe a story about a piece of gear you've acquired after a long time/saving up/availability.

For me I'm surprised I don't see too many CAE 3 preamps and Jackson Y2KVs in circulation. I wanted to get a factory C+ with rev/eq/simulclass and it literally took me a year and a half to find one looking at least every other day on the net. It was a gift to myself for paying off student loans. I'd love to get my hands on a legit Jose modded marshall someday.

How about you?

Luckily I have had the opportunity to own a lot of ultra rare high end gear and the only guitar I really want to try is a Teuffel BirdFish.

Esp iron cross and gibson custom shop jimmy page #2 vos, I had the jimmy page and sold it after making 2k profit, but i really miss the guitar and want another.

The '90s blueface Diezel VH4 amps don't come up for sale often, and when they do it seems to be in Europe (the two I've seen in the last few years were in the EU). I bought one from a guy in Slovakia and it turned out to be a very smooth transaction but was nerve-racking and incredibly expensive once currency conversions, shipping, and customs started piling on to the already-expensive price of the amp itself. But what a glorious amp.

They're out there but a koa ibanez voyager. I had a custom Hill built based around it, but would love to find, and be able to afford the real deal.

Funny you mention CAE Pre amps. There has been an early 90's one on Phoenix Craigslist for a few weeks. I keep salivating over it.

I've been having Ibanez J-Custom GAS for no good reason other than there's a sale on. I seriously don't need such an expensive guitar but sales can do strange things to people.

Killer Guitars KG Prime Blue Flame with blue LED position markers (Akira Takasaki model). The exchange rate + the base price + shipping = stupid prices.

Try to find a Rockman Guitar Monitor. It's a 500 watt Guitar Stack using either the Rockmodules or Rockman XPR. I think SR&D made around 50.

For me, it was the EMB Audio Remote Wah. It is the wah used by Steve Vai on Passion & Warfare and everything live until 1993 or so. Slash used it on Civil War and live until 1993 too. Kirk Hammett used them live from 1991-2003. It is such a unique sound that Ioved even before playing guitar, but listening to Vai and Slash use it I was drawn to it. Fast forward a few years and I buy my first wah pedal, a Dunlop 535Q (original version). It was and is a great wah....but not what I was looking for and quickly learned that! haha....So I began to search for the EMB Audio Remote Wah but it seemed like I would run into Bigfoot before even locating a wah. Finally after about 10 years, I found one! Bought it quickly and then about a year or 2 later I found another in Japan. That was the result of many many many years of searching and asking around but it paid off. Fast forward to just a few years ago and I located the original builder! We then decided to work together and release brand new Wah pedals. Crazy crazy turn of events.

We are currently working on the latest prototype :)
