Tried one out and fell in love with the neck. Not so thrilled with the noisy neck pickup.

Can get a used one for 1k. Thinking of flipping my Peavey Wolfgang hardtail or even trading it in to get the esp.

Thoughts ???

Been years since I had a few of them.
The Wolfie defiantly has more tone.
But if your looking to just rip with high gain.....no worrys I guess.

Thought Lord Tone King had one of them, maybe he can chime in.
You eye ballin that one on Craigslist?

No I did not see one on CL. I felt the same about the guitar though.....great neck but meh tone. I thought the tone part was just me but perhaps not.

I love my ESP MII with maple fretboard. I put in some Bareknuckle alnico Nailbombs. Sounds great through your old Splawn !! :)

I use an M-II as my main guitar. I think it's awesome. I have the NTB model but ended up taking out the EMGs and putting in a Seymour Duncan Custom Custom in the bridge and a Alnico Pro II in the neck. The guitar shreds for sure. There is some minor tuning issues for me but I think it has to do with using 10s tuned down to D, I probably should be using 11s.

I was in the same boat. Had a wolfy, fell in love with an MII

I ordered a new custom special in snow white and have never looked back

The wolfy had more tone but the ESP is in a different league as far as playing is concerned. It is also rock solid and stable in tuning. No regrets

Awesome guitar for the money
If u can find a neckthrough one for 1k buy it !! Heh
They're the best bang for the buck high gain shredders out there
Tuning stability and tone with emgs
I've added a PA2 booster to mine and it rips !

Cl guy wants $875 for a late 80 or early 90s model. Im going to go play theone I played originally again and see what shakes out. Not sure I want a 20+ year old guitar.

I had the NTB w/ EMGs version and I regret selling it off....not sure what you mean by noisy neck pickup, but even w/ the 59 in the there it should be quiet as mouse, so maybe it was just the one you played?
As with any guitar, you get duds, so play it first, but in general it is a no-nonsense road ready machine.

Went back and played the MII again. Like the neck but the guitars overall tone just was not working for me. It has an HS configuration and the single coil in the neck was really unpleasant to my ears.

Holding out for another superstrat.

try one of the newer ones w/ H-H configuration. Not 100% sure, but maybe the body wood changed also? If I remember correctly my 05 was Alder.
