I've been on a hunt for an Uber for a couple months. With prices of everything going through the roof, it's been hard to track one down for a price I'd feel ok with paying.

Hopped on GC's used section yesterday and BAM - Uberschall for $1,299. The catch? No pics. I knew it'd be gone if I waited until after work to call so I just bit the bullet and ordered it.

It showed up today, and here's what I got.

According to the "Serial coding" I found in a past thread, this would make it #137, which I believe is the earliest version of the amp, if I'm not mistaken.

Can anyone elaborate? I haven't had time to mess with it yet, but everything appears to be in great shape.

You scored. I just sold mine about two months ago for $2300

Congrats!

I’ve got a bunch of great undervalued gear from them. 2C SRG for 750, 74 mint 1960 cab for 350, 84 Charvel for 750 etc etc.

Congrats

You can def find some deals at GC.

I got my Rectoverb head for $490.

i have #129 and mine was made 02'ish. i still have the receipts for it. you totally scored ! congrats

Great score!

I'm not very familiar with different Uber versions - anyone know if they changed much over the years, what the changes were etc?

whats more amazing is that someone agreed to sell this to gc for 5 or 6 hundo. yikes. nice score though. scores like that aren't easy to come by these days.

Yep.

I'm thinking either there was something minor wrong with it that a GC tech fixed or-
Whomever priced it didn't know what they were doing or
both

i would have bought that for that price too. i have a feeling, or hoping at least that used prices start coming back to normal.

Congrats, OP! Hope it isn't busted.

Very early ones have a rubber handle and a different lead gain pot taper (high gain comes on quicker). Rev 2/Green amps (leather handle) are pretty much the same except for adjusting the taper.

Rev Blue (with the small blue power LED) changed a lot—lower plate voltage, different voicing (less highs and lows).

That's one of those buy first ask forgiveness later kind of deals.

Even before the vid raised used prices uber's where going just under 2 grand.

Very good. Sold mine for likr 1800 and they're only getting more rare. Congrats. Very good amp

put that on an actual published web page, and it will be TRUE FOREVER! Just like that poor guy who described all the different striped mark III's in the early 2000's, and it became rhetoric for every ebay auction or sales pitch from then on out...
it became true because it was on the net

Can be confirmed by Bogner.

The blue also has a different loop.

Crazy good score, congrats! I remember these going for 2400-2800 for quite a while not even 5 years ago. Seems the price has really come down on them for some reason. Congrats on your killer amp

Are the channel volume the same? Id bet not. Be prepared for no taper on the gain knob. 9 oclock is max out, unless someone corrected it.
