I'd chalk it up to typical GC listing error. Usually the picture is correct, and there is no Sig X cab.

Nice callout. I called them, they were busy and will call me back. If it's the head, I'm all over it.

So gave them about 45 minutes and called them back. I got someone in Pro Audio and she couldn't confirm if it was a cabinet or head but she said it looks like they took it to repair. She wasn't sure what that meant other than to say they didn't have it any longer...that sucks. Damn, a Sig X at that price would have been incredible.

OK, new development...the guy that worked in guitar department did call me back. He was very apologetic about the delay and said they had a huge rental in progress earlier and was swamped. Anyway, he had the amp in front of him and gave me a rundown. Said it was definitely the head and not a cab. It's fully functional and other than a few minor cosmetic scratches, it's all good. So I bought it.

3-5 days shipping and I will report back...so damn happy, I've wanted a Sig X for years and it just never worked out right.

Awesome, glad it worked out!

Man, if I had seen this I would have snagged it lol. Sig X is one of my favorite amps, but for this it would have been to flip--already have a Sig X that gets quite a lot of burn.

Does it normally take so long for GC to ship out used gear from a store?

I've never purchased anything from GC due to all the horror stories i've read online, hope it arrives well.

Yup. If the store is busy. I bought an amp, it shipped a week later. They do a good job of packing though. All tubes 12 in total were individually bubble wrapped and marked for slot position.

They did say they do that with the tubes, so that’s cool I guess. Anyway, hope it ships tomorrow.

That's an individual store thing, not every GC packs well nor do most of them pull tubes I bet. I've had some amps arrive from GC that were just the amp thrown in a box with minimal packing material.

I’d never suggest removing tubes. They’re safer right in the amp.

I agree. I’ve never had any issues with tubes arriving broken when shipping or receiving an amp. Any manufacturer shops with tubes in place too, so that’s always worked for me.
