Hey dude. Yes. "Example 2" is Y only. Feed Example 2 into "Combining Multiple Amps" for A/B/Y.

OK, I think I get it. Is this correct?:

1) Guitar into "Feed Thru In 1"
2) "Feed Thru Out 1 and 2" goes into "Loop 1 In" and Loop 2 In"
3) Finally, "Loop 1 Send" and "Loop 2 Send" go to the amps.

yes and this is where my ground loop problem lies......

Bummer you don't have lift switches. I fixed my noise problem with couple switch flips. Did you try the lug thing?

Where are your lift switches...

I have not tried the lug yet. I have lift switches on the power amp but it does not do any good, other than that no other lift switches. The setup is pretty simple, kind of sad the GCX does not handle it any better than it does.

I am going to try the lug thing today and I will report back.

Lift switches are on amps.

I am sure it has sunk like a rock by now, but there was a very recent thread where Zachman posted some very informational videos about grounds and ground loops.

try the nady he1 hum eliminator i had this problem w my gsp into my vh4, i picked up the nady he1 you plug your 1/4 jacks in then out then into amp and it worked...killing that ground noise. its like 25 bucks

i had this exact same problem with my patchmate which i found to be great in many respects possibly just because of how incredibly easy it was to program, but i couldn't find any workable solution for running my two amps without that hum, then again i'm lazy with the innards of gear, i have looked at the rjm rg16 i think it's called and don't see a switch for ground loop hum or anything, either way i don't think i would need it, just curious, thanks!

hey... If I may jump in here, doesn't the GCX do A/B/Y like this:

I am asking, because I am planning on doing this eventually. It may change my path to goals if this hasnt' worked for you.

Thanks

That's the only way a GCX will combine amps in an A/B/Y manner. You got to use a Y cable F x 2M. Here is where the ground loops start, plus you have no control over phase issues and likely the combination of amps/cabs will sound like shit. This is why I said it doesn't really lend itself to multiple amp setups.

There are much better options. My favorite is RJM's Y-Not, especially if you run all your pedals in front of the amps and don't need the loops in a rack. You can park the Y-Not in the bottom of a rack or on the pedal board and use a Midi Mouse or something small. The Y-Not has an ISO out for Amp B and a phase reverse. Totally quiet and no grounding issues.
