I'm probably about to trade an amp for a Kustom Double Cross (a Dual Recto for trade), and I was just wondering about how this company is viewed in these parts?

good? bad?

issues?

Ive only heard bad things about those amps to be honest. I'd just stick with the recto if i were you.

i agree

mark v rules screw the haters(why r there even haters)i love mine....anyhow sounds wierd to make a trade like this....a proven classic for an unproven amp

Unproven. interesting way of putting it.

The way I was looking at it was, I went out and actually bought a Recto tonight, just to have as a trade item, as I got a good deal on it. Either way it's win-win for me.

I don't need it. I will either trade it, or sell it if the deal falls through. Either way, I will make good. Just wondered whether I should get the Kustom for sure, or let it sell to someone else, and just sell the amp I bought is all, since I don't need, nor want it. No other Recto can replace the tone machine I already own (pre-500). I even just went to the Mesa store to try out a 2010 Dual. Hated it.

I am good friends with James Brown. Famed designer of all the great peavey stuff..5150, ultra, etc...he is head of design at Kustom. The DC is his ultimate design. They are made in USA and finaled by him. I would have no problem owning one. If you have a problem with it and can't seem to get anywhere with Kustom just let me know and I can! It is really a great amp!

I have wanted to try one of these since they came out. Price seems fair. Would imagine with JB designing it, it would be cool. Front of that amp looks goofy to me but who gives a fuck as long as it sounds good.

Ya I have been trying to work with Kustom and Traynor on changing their looks. But they both seem to think the stuff looks great!

I have a Kustom 36 Coupe and love it! Great all around amp and takes pedals well. The Double Cross looks real interesting for high gain. If the clean channel is as good as the Coupe series then it's a winner!
