Just heard that Queensryche has a new singer, Todd La Torre from Crimson Glory. Now there is no Tate or DeGarmo in Queensryche....

They have sucked for years due to lack of good material, doubt this will help the situation. The classics are still impressive though, had The Warning out the other day.

Is this official? I know Rising West did 2 shows in Seattle. This is all the guys, with Todd La Torre on vocals. Had not heard anything was permanent though. Tate was one of my favorites back in the day. Sucks to hear how he sounds now.

Sorry folks, DeGarmo went to hell with the rest of them, you forget he was involved on Hear in the Now Frontier and came back for one album after that and they still were not good. And DeGarmo's solo stuff was no better than the later Queensryche material. If you were unfortunate enough to hear Spys4Darwin you know what I mean.
I say this as an absolutely HUGE fan of the band's earlier material that finally gave up completely after Operation Mindcrime II
The new singer seems to have the pipes, but it remains to be seen if this lineup can actually write something worthwhile.

Really without those two there is no Queensryche for me. One of my favorite all time bands.

DeGarmo was amazing, but he was a part of some pretty mediocre QR albums too. He was just smart about it, and he got out when he ran out of things to say, musically.

Degarmo also left because he wanted to be a professional pilot. and that is still his current job. He did say in an interview a while back, that he left Queensryche originally because "he still wanted to be friends with the guys, and staying in the band that probably wouldn't happen" so there is stuff between the lines
