I stopped paying attention to Queensryche when Hear In The Now Frontier came out. That was a LONG time ago.

Yup....that was the last CD I bought as well. Listened to maybe 2 songs on it and tossed it in the Rack.
Havent played it since.

this was my favorite song off hear in the now, here is them playing it a month ago

Let Geoff move on if that's what he wants.
As far as QR going forward..do it.

It's ok guys. To just hang up something because a few are gone well these guys are pros and that's their job and "paycheck" and it's a well known gig and I'm sure the existing guys in the band still love QR. Remember they wrote this stuff and grew up playing it.
Times change and I wish too QR was the guys and Tate and DeGarmo but we all know through time and many many bands that this rarely works out.

So, the new guy sounds great as does the rest of the band and DeGarmo could come back for guest appearances or even write with them. Remember if Tate is gone writing will be different and if DeGarmo did come back even to write there would be less pressure on him and the band from not having Tate and his wife around.

My $.02 but no need to have all the damn hate. Really...

I've always said about any great band...lock them in a studio for the first 3 years and write 10 albums *then*...that's usually any bands most liked material is the first 3 records. Some overcome that...but still.

I've said my piece. No debate needed.

It happens. They had their time and now they are all going separate ways. I love the old stuff but haven't bought a QR album since promised land.

I still love watching the livecrime video and Rage For Order absolutely kills in my book.

Hate?

QR hasn't been relevant for quite a while. Probably time to put it to bed, and stop destroying the legacy.

Sucks but, maybe they'll get more progressive/metal again. Doesn't have to be old Queensryche just good Queensryche. I did like a few songs on Tribe and even American Soldier. I did not pick up the last one. Operation Mindcrime II was the most enjoyable recent era release where I enjoyed at least half of the songs. Promised Land was QR's swan song.

It's amazing how different they were without Chris.. I lost alot of interest after he left. Without Geoff...how can they be Queensryche? Axl's GNR is a cover band to me, to put things in perspective. I really like Micheal Wilton and Scott Rockenfield..but I think it's time for a new.

It appears they are not calling it Queensryche, so that's cool. I haven't been into them in 15-20 years. Will always dig everything up thru Empire. Just don't call it QR when you go 30 years, then change the voice of the band. That's not right under any circumstance.

I agree!!! Glad they did it!!! Yes, PL was their last great album/CD.

Agree with much of what has been said here.

QR used to be my favorite band for many years. Mindcrime, Rage For Order, The Warning, and Empire are my favorites (in that order). I did like a few songs off of Promised Land, Q2K and Hear in the Now Frontier. But after that... it just got lame. Mindcrime II was SUCH a complete disappointment for me. I felt they totally jumped the shark at that point and just drug out the name to try to sell some records. The last straw for me was spending all the dough on the Live at the Moore DVD and ripping the DVD out of the home theater system at song three when Geoff went with the policial flavor of the day. Just gave that POS to a liberal friend of mine who seemed to drink the same koolaid as Geoff and never looked back.

I too feel that [even though he did some lackluster work with QR], things really went to total crap by the time Chris left. Though I did like some of Kelly Gray's additions to the band.

Actually, my favorite album by QR members since Mindcrime or Empire is undoubtedly the Slave to the System project that Gray and Rockenfield had going with Damon Johnson of Brother Cane. I've listened to that album a LOT over the past 5 years, which is more than can be said for any QR albums since the early 90's.

In regards to my "prog/melodic metal salvation" after being let-down by QR (and later, Dream Theater)... for me it's been Kamelot since the mid-2000s. I got into them at first with their Black Halo concept album, and then later their Epica, Karma, and later albums. Like QR and DT, they've started to fade (especially after their Tate-like vocalist Roy Kahn left the band last year). But their star still shines bright for me, MUCH brighter than QR has shined for the past two decades.

I will always remember how much I was into Rage and Mindcrime back in the day. But the QR that I knew and loved has been DEAD for the past 20+ years...
