Germans ….. crafty sound masters

I love the name California Clean
You also could name this channel 'Fullerton Clean' 😊

In fact, my reference for the sound shape of this channel was my 65' Blackface Fender Twin Reverb.
I only have thinned out the channel compared to the original in the bass range, so that the sound is not quite so boomy.

I'm extremely happy that your hearing is back (y)
So you can now perceive the qualities of your Pure Metal Machine even better than before :giggle:

Maybe you should take a cue from Jon Schaffer's setting, which he had set on my very first Pure Metal Machine, when I had lent him this amp and my very first model Dino 939 rev 2.8 (which is now in squarehead's hands) for the Headbanger's Ball tour through Europe in December 2016. This setting:

What is remarkable and interesting about Jon's setting is that he had set the preamp volume very low, but had the output control wide open, so that he didn't overdrive the afterburner stage (the hidden 5th gain stage) which is located in my circuits between these two controls, because Jon prefers maximum dynamics with minimum compression.

In addition, he had only activated the Body switch to emphasize the low mids some more, but left all the other mode switches deactivated.

So he also had to set the California volume very low so that this channel does not get too loud, which has the side effect that this channel then becomes crystal clear clean.

@Techdeth - try this setting. Then go from there, to find your optimized personal setting.

PS: And yes, the Larry logo was torn off because someone was a bit careless in the hustle on stage. We had only provisionally reattached it with double-sided tape, so it looks a bit strange on the photo 🤷‍♂️
Thanks Larry
I love it through yhe deizel cab best
What you think about that ?

Unfortunately, I can't say anything about that.
I've never played through a Diezel cab myself and don't even know which speakers he uses.
My all-time favorite for metal are old Celestion G12T-75's, the ones with the completely white label and no matter if vented or not.

I like old V30s from the late 80' or early to mid 90' very much. A tiny bit too less bass response and a bit too much in the mids, but anyways, they are absolutely ok. Altough newer V30s sound - in my ears - awful.
