Getting an iso cab

OK, so there's a bit of a blowout on Randall Iso Cabs right now...I grabbed one...It comes with a Celestion V30 (60 watt)....I will only be pushing 50 watts most of the time...But what if I have a Triple Recto at 150 watts....Can I safely push up the volume without getting extreme or am I fucked to start with?
 
Who's blowing these out? I think they've been 400 bucks for some time.

I would change the speaker to something like a K100 to handle 100 watts. 150w into 30 might be doable if you're quiet, but then there's no point in having an iso cab!
 
Palmers are pretty cool. Just not what I'm looking for personally.

And I guess it's not so much a blowout price on the isos but it is much less than when they came out...I was tempted then, which is why I'm excited now.... :)
 
I've heard that Voodoo Amps new ISO Cab is the cat's whiskers. Never tried it, just heard. Think there's one on eBay for $699.

Wow...Just checked those out...Amazing and clearly the next level of isolation cab...1295 retail is tough though...I can see why it is worth it for all the features...
 
Check out the rivera silent sister iso cab. I use one with an evm12l and it's an amazing solution.

Yeah, don't run a Triple Recto thru one V30...thank me later.
 
So how long will it be till you put in a big watt speaker and really crank on it? Oh yeah!

:lol: :LOL: I thought about that already...But anything louder in that box would be insane...Gotta stick with the V30 and 50 watts on down....

I'd like to try one of these, but I don't have 1G to try...
 
I've been down this route before. One think is that you can't really get around the boxy sound you get from have flat surfaces so close to the mic.

What about if you wrapped egg crate foam around the cab's area?
