Getting more mids from my BE-100

I have a BE-100 and a modded 1973 Marshall SLA that has the BE mod. The modded Marshall seems to be brighter and punchier then the BE100. (Both have Tungsol preamp tubes. JJEL34L in the Marshall and JJEL34 in the BE100) The bass and presence are pretty much set the same on both amps but, the mids and treble on the Marshall are set to 7/8 and full on 10 on the BE100. (I'm thinking this is some of the difference) I'm very good with a soldering iron so is there any way to add a capacitor or different value pots to the mid and treble that will allow me to get more out of them? (Unfortunately I play Les Pauls that are fairly dark in tone so i know this isn't helping the BE100)

Ok I did a little more testing. I ran the amps one at a time into a audio analazyer that shows EQ frequencies. It looks like a 6db increase around the 500-580 range needs to happen. I ran a test by placing a para eq into the loop and it seemed to get me pretty close. Are there any easy changes with pots or capacitors that I can do to make this change permanent inside the amp?(I dont want to have to use the EQ in the loop all the time if I don't have to)

change the slope resistor to shift the frequncies and mid bump. its the 33k (10k to 100k range - if u want put a pot on it n sweep to frequncy u like) shift it up or down. only one component to change. give er a whirl.
 
Email me a picture of the inside of the Marshall and the Be100. We can go from there

And I agree with the OP and prefer the mids on my BE mod.
 
All mods are a bit different because of parts differences. The circuit I put on the amps is the same.

I just want to clarify that I LOVE the BE 100. It's an amazing amp!! The minor changes I am wanted are just because of my personal choice of equipment. I dont think anyone else would probably need or want these changes.

I dont want to give the impression that Im unhappy with the amp.
 
One that worked great w/ my BE was to use a naga viper in the front. I use it mainly to eq the BE in the upper mid range. The naga viper has worked better for me than the para eq and a shit loud of other boost pedals.

I had Dave mod my BE w/ a solo boost feature and he also changed the C45 switch. When engaged it is now brighter and punchier. This amp covers all my needs and Dave was awesome to work with.

I'd recommend you give the viper a shot. That pedal works so good w/ the BE-100.
