ut ohz... did I just open a can of worms?

They both seem indispensable and worth their weight in gold for the technically proficient guitarist. Thoughts?

I have one of each, a BYOC Rat clone and GGG Octavia and they're both stellar...

I don't know much about GGG, but BYOC is great. BYOC's forum is awesome for anybody wanting to build their own pedals.

Theyre both great and alot of fun but BYOC goes the extra mile with better boxes, drilling, instructions and improvements.

Either way, lots of fun and great tones.

FROM THE GRAVE.

I'm considering the BYOC Analog Delay as a possible future build, it sounds great from the front of amp demo's I've heard, but how does it do in the loop? Anyone tried it there?

I've got a BYOC Trem, Chorus, and Phaser. None of which *I* built, mind you. But all sound top notch.

There was a recent thread on TGP about this topic. BYOC has better instructions and is better for the beginning pedal builder, with slightly higher component quality. GGG instructions were not as clear and their boxes I don't think are predrilled.

I have only built a BYOC tribooster and bought a used BYOC tremelo. I really like the tremelo, the tribooster, I used as a solo boost for a while, but never really liked the treble boost function.

I do want a BYOC bluesbreaker clone, Super Fuzz Clone, and Shredmaster that I would like to build (in that order)....

GGGs boxes are pre drilled but not very well at times.

Ive built almost every BYOC kit made. My fav is the stereo Flanger. Best flanger ive ever heard. period

Also the GGG site has lots of great info on it as far as build tips and other projects go. They also are good for some oddball project kits

I may have to add the Flanger to my list to build, I haven't ever owned a flanger cause I never really used it when I have my old DOD G10 multieffects box. I have played some tunes that I wish I had a flanger.

How do you like the tribooster, tremelo, blues overdrive, leads fuzz, and shredmaster?

I have built ALL of the pedals from both places. the byoc is better for a novice but the ggg's are cheaper and just as good.

The Triboost, British Blue OD and the Shredder are all awesome. Infact I had my triboost on my board for a few years. The Shredder I dont use much at all, but it would be an incredible pedal for someone wanting to use a pedal for ALL of their gain and dirt. The BBOD is a bluesbreaker clone andn is fairly transparent. Makes a descent OD boost.

The Leeds Fuzz sounds good to me but Im not a fuzz guy at all. Its very unique sounding compared to my Muff clone. I never use the thing though. It collects dust but Im glad I have it in my collection.

If youre looking for a boost or an OD check out the Overdrive 2. Probably one of the best Tubescreamers out there. I use mine alot.

the worst pedal from byoc i can think of is the Lazy Sprocket slow gear clone. Its just a dumb pedal to begin with. I wish I wouldve saved my $$ on that one. Its a glorified noise gate
