I'm looking at an ES335 in stain cherry and they are now hard to find.
I can't see why since Gibson is no longer making guitars in a satin finish, and I don't understand why.
The satin finish looks and feels great on the ES335, and makes the neck feel super sweet.
The satin cherry ES335 has been a great seller for Gibson, at least it is/was a more reasonably priced ES335.
I guess that's the answer right there. If the price is anywhere near "reasonable", then Gibson must not want any part of it.
Fine by me. If I can't find a satin 335 or gloss 335 at a decent price, then I'll go with either Ibanez or get an Epi Sheraton II and upgrade the electronics. The Sheraton II is only $600 I can upgrade the electronics to better than Gibson levels and have enough money left over to buy an Ibanez AS153.

Go ahead Gibson, keep it up, but you may be selling left over stock at greatly reduced prices at the end of the year.
Remember the 80's when you guys couldn't compete with the other brands that were making better guitars and your prices were much lower in order to compete?
I do.
