that would be crazy if Gibson folded and they stopped making les pauls

After the 2015 debacle and dumb acquisitions, I could see why.

They seem to have bounced back with this 2016 batch though, I really like what I see but haven't seen any in stores here to try out yet.

sounds like they have some big bills to pay here shortly.

at least they realize and admit how bad the 2015 models were.

I played some new USA Les Pauls (non-Custom Shop) at GC last year. I was so disgusted with the prices and quality I haven't even tried another since. How they sold those abominations is beyond me.

"Revenues were approximately $1.7 billion for 2015. That number has skyrocketed in recent years, up from $300 million in 2010"

I feel better after reading the details, I prefer the guitar company to stand alone but The revenues of the "Music Lifestyles company" are strong.

As mostly a Gibson player, I hope they focus on core quality products for the instrument division and make their profits elseware in the company :)

Also on a side note, Gibson's financial position is much better than the Guitar Center financial info I've seen.

they'd just get bought up by some holding company and further capitalize on the name while continuing to put out a substandard product. All this while the ignorant consumer cares more about the status of owning a gibson over the quality of the instrument.

Henry says he feels they are on an upward trend?  Anything would be an upward trend after making those abortions in 2015.

2016? More of those great inovations we've been begging Gibson to develop for us...
