Doctor Love
As a poor man, I often wondered how it would feel to play a rich man's guitar. Thanks to Earle Teat Music in Delmar, DE - I got to find out. But, since this guitar is very special and way above my pay grade, I thought it might be best to bring in someone who can actually play guitar in order for you to hear it the way it should be heard. So Chris Gray from Earle Teat Music agreed to come to Smile or Die! Studios and play this beautiful R8 Gibson Les Paul VOS for us! Come with us and see how the other half lives!
Have a great weekend and "Celebrate Mediocrity" with me!

I dunno, you strike me as one of those dudes in FL who wears docker shorts and sperry topsiders, claims he's always broke, but plays golf and goes yachting every weekend and still manages to to keep your Benz and your wife's Escalade on the road and has a walk in closet full of nice clothes. I've got like $65 bucks on me right now and no bank account and I need a spare cable and some single gauges at GC so there goes that money.

Invest better🤔

Now this is a flex right here.
It would depend on your perspective I guess. If you are stuck renting it's definitely a flex at the moment but the rat shit infested mold ridden blown out single wide without running water me and my family existed in for two years to get to this stage while you were in a comfortable apartment was not a flex at all. We all have blessings we can count each day.

With property how it is, in particular anywhere that someone might want to live, owning a home of just about any kind seems pretty wild. I've had the good fortune and (occasional) good sense such that I can afford the mortgage on a nice place for my family, but it isn't hard to see how a bit of bad luck could turn that around.

Ive had many flametops but prefer my 1997 CS 68 RI LPC. Its the only LP ive ever wanted.

A nice R8 can certainly be worth the price. $5500 on a new one is unattainable for the average player.

You can find deals on new ones in the $4k range though, or used closer to $3k if you really look. In that range, maybe it’s worth saving up to find one.

I coughed up $3k for a local R7 last year & don’t regret it a bit.

My R8 I bought new in 2006 is still my best sounding guitar and I don't expect that to ever be beaten.

I've had a few different pickup sets in it and it sounds better than other guitar no matter the pickups.

I was fortunate to get in before the covid price jump madness, so I guess the timing was right. If you are willing to live someplace others won't, and are ok with your days off work spent breaking your back while your friends are chilling with their guitars or out socializing, then quite a few options open up to you but you have to be ready to rough it as long as it takes.

Les Pauls are overrated. Buy a fuckin Strat and start playing.
I could bash modeling gear for the next two years and not offend as many members as you did with two sentences. I'm kind of outraged at the genius of this simple statement. I was actually thinking of hitting report post for a minute.:LOL::LOL:.
