I would not buy a Gibson without playing it and probably having it analyzed on a Plek machine. If you want an education on Gibson give Phil at Philtone guitars a call. The percentage of Gibsons, high end or not, that have bad necks is very high. Most people cannot tell though. They slap on high Fret wire and let the Plek machine level it down. It compensates for twists or humps, etc. in the neck so it will fine to most. Phil witnessed Gibson's operation and was appalled.

I owned a class 5 lp, the quility on mine was great, the neck is thin like the 60s shape and has the long neck tenon, bb2 and bb3 pickups, my guitar weight 8lbs, the bodys are weight relived and not chambered.

for a while at least class 5 guitars had their own unique weight relief pattern. not simply just holes and not nearly as much as full chambering. the ones i played were very nice guitars.

yes this is correct, they did have a different pattern, my boneyard lp is relived the same way and very similar to the class 5 but with a different color and neck shape.

Tried one few months ago, nothing special in tone department, but the top looks spectacular.
