Ditto...

I'm eyeballing ES335, ES339 and ES349's as of late.

They're sassy and cool

Really fascnating guitars.Anybdy can explain the differences of the models

The 339 is closer to a Les Paul in size.

I always liked the 335's, but I could never really connect with them due to their size, so the 339 is a really good alternative if you want a very similar guitar that's closer to what you are used to.

It's odd though... I loved the feel and the sound of the one I played so much, that I don't even care about the dreaded "ping" on a few strings, or the fact that it doesn't stay in tune very well.
Same with my Les Pauls... The neck will snap if I even consider resting it the wrong way... But I have nothing but love for them :D

I've been restraining myself from buying one of these for some time now...

They're uber cool IMHO... :D

I want one. Vox seemingly makes a nice semi-hollow as well... As does Gretsch and a several others. I think it'd rock!!

And we all know that if you play one the audience will go:

"Oh wow. A vintage burst 339. Very elegant choice. This guy is obviously the nuts!"

It seemed to sing, and had a bouncy but liquid feel,

Great description. This is gonna sound stupid, but I have multiple Historic LP's around here, and the 339 sounds like the best LP I have ever heard. So sweet and snarly at the same time. Never liked the bigger body models, but the 339 is badass.

Love mine, and they are a steal imo.

That's just f'n CLASSY man...!! :inlove:

I'm looking at the Gibby website just the last couple months - always these 335's, or 339's or 359's.

I mean, just LOOK at this baby!!

Ya, beautiful ax... And I'd just love to hammer one of these babies through my 20thA XTC full tilt volume. It would be so carnal, man...f'n sassy!!

I have one of these in Caramel Burst. Couldn't be happier with it. Its the closest i'll ever get to that authentic Larry Carlton 335 Color, for the price anyway :-). Great pickups, the body is comfortable, I'd recommend these for sure. My only gripe is that I had to have the nut slots filed because the strings were sticking. Even though its custom shop it wasnt cut correctly. BUT... that was the ONLY problem with it. Now thats fixed, its amazing. GET ONE!!!!! haha :-D

Wow. THAT is a stunning guitar.

Question... Is it quite a fragile guitar? Not that it would put me off having one, just wondering.

So the 339s are smaller 335s? I had a 335 for awhile and it was literally the only Gibson I've ever held that played like butter and really called to me when I first saw it. I shouldn't have sold it, but I needed money and got a great price on it, and it went to a older jazzhead who was really in love with it and would treat it properly. One of the best guitars I've ever owned.

They are considerably smaller, yes. But for all intents and purposes I think it retains "that" sound.

I'm not sure if this is a 339 or 335...but I've always loved Lifeson's axe on the Exit Stage Left video

Please someone correct me if I am wrong, because I am far from an expert on this...

I don't think it's either in that pic. It looks too small for a 335, and I believe all 339's are double cut-away.

Cutaway horn looks a bit sharp, no??

I'm no expert, I'm a newbie in the world of semi-hollows.

thats got the florentine cutaway , not a double cutaway. It looks like an es 175
