Gibson Les Paul Standard BKP suggestions?

Hello everyone. First post on Rig-Talk.

Anyone have any experience with a Holy Diver bridge in a Gibson Les Paul Standard? I see tons of info about it in a Custom, but not much in a Standard. My particular LP is a little heavy, close to 10 pounds, but I feel it’s a little on the bright side. How would the Diver do in that thing? Going for a pickup that can do 80s metal to modern metal and all in between. Favorite tones include Jerry Cantrell, Marc Diglio (XYZ), Nuno, Nolly, Jeff Loomis, etc... You know...that thick, greasy, chunky, chewy tone. Currently, I have a Duncan Custom with an Alnico 8 mag installed. I like it, but it’s missing something. Not real tight unless I’m using a boost in front of my amp and it’s pretty bassy.

I welcome any other suggestions of pickups (and other manufacturers) people have had good luck with in an LP standard. I play through a Fractal at home, but have a 5150 and a Dual Recto for live stuff. I’ve also owned Aftermath, Painkiller, and Juggernaut BKPs. The Juggs are in a Jackson HT7, which is the most beastly 7 string I’ve ever had. Love them in that guitar. The Aftermath and Painkiller didn’t do it for me.. almost too middy. I also have a Duncan JB installed in a Charvel SoCal. Love it in the Charvel, but I wasn’t crazy about it in my LP.

I’ve heard good things about Arcane and Motor City pickups, too. However, I have yet to hear a response from Rob from Arcane.

Thanks everyone!

I'm looking for a similar tone that you described but i want a little less High End Sizzle or Fizz. I'm using EMG's Currently but i'm switching 2 of LP standards to Passives.

I'm looking at putting a set of BKP Black Dogs in my PRS. Somewhat vintage voiced but a bit higher output.

I've got a Rebel Yell bridge in a LP studio and it rips. I't pretty middy though.

Definitely look at the Motor City stuff, Afwayu or maybe a Suhr Aldrich

Check out Motor city pickups, WCR Jim Wagner,Wolfetone,Suhr,OX4

Bk rebel yell is a good choice ,if its to middy for you which I don't think it will be put a ceramic mag in it.
i would also recomend a motor city hot head . I put one in my CS6 a while back and love it

The nailbomb ceramic or alnico is always a winner in mahogany/maple. I still have my ceramic :) It's a tad tighter than the alnico

Have a Les Paul Standard with BKP mule pickups. Sounds outstanding!

I'd recommend those.

I have been wondering the same thing since i am switching 2 LPs from EMGs. Both of the LPs are Standards....One is a Little Dark & the Mids are scooped sounding in that guitar. The Other Standard is a Little too Bright.

THIS! I have them in 6 custom shop LPs. Very open and clear, with a tight but still big low end. If you want more gain/compression, go with the Afwayu.

dude I'm really liking the boot camp brute forces I got. theyre ceramic and tight, but have a thicker midrange.
