How are these? The different series are confusing me. I had a studio in the 90's. I have been online shopping looking for a bacchus, greco, etc but I am always a bit nervous about buying used. So I'm thinking about maybe grabbing one of these.

Try before buy. Tributes have Ultra modern weight which is not suited for heavier styles. Ditto pickups. Very different from 90s Studios.

Thanks. I bought an Epi Koa Les Paul a few years ago and the pickups killed it for me. I put Fishman in it and still didnt like it(I dont think Im a fan of fishman). I may take a trip up to GC today to put some hands on some.

The 2018 models did not have any weight relief.

Quality-wise, they're truly all over the place. Some are awful, with obvious tool marks that even log cabin furniture would be embarrassed by, but some are pretty good. Looks-wise it's about the same. Some have beautiful tops and some look like they're made from the ugliest driftwood you've ever seen.

The ones after 2018 all have weight relief.

I have a tribute SG that is beautiful. The pickups and electronics were shit. I sold the Dirty Fingers pickups for 1/3 of what I paid for the guitar new. Some new pickups, a good setup and it is killer.
