How can I tell if my volume pot in my LPC is a 500K?

There are a series of numbers on the top, but nothing resembling 500K? Can you tell from those numbers? Style of pot?

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure Gibson used 300K pots in the customs. I have a 79 custom and they are 300k.

Would that explain the smooth top end? I'd like it to bite more.

I've seen talk around here lately about people replacing their 300K's with 500K's to open the tone up and get it where it should be. I'd like it to cut more.

LOL
I'm at work 'til 1:00 today, bring it on over and I'll check it out for you.
Or if the East Valley is too far, take it to Billy at B&D Guitar Repair, tell him I sent you and I'm sure he'll check it out for gratis.

He's near the Deer Valley Airpark.

I would, but there's a bigger picture here. I'm thinking about Motor City Pickups or Bareknuckle's. If I did that I'd do it all at once.

I've also been throwing around selling this guitar. It's amazing, but I'm a Strat/Tele player and it's not really my thing. AMAZING guitar, just not for me.

I also played a few REAL nice PRS Custom 24's lately and I love the wide/thin neck on those. Tone was great. Much more suited to my style.
