I picked up this 2019 Gibson Les Paul Special this week. Its used, lightly used.

I got it home today and did my normal setup routine on it. I was pleasantly surprised to achieve a great, low action and near perfect intonation. The fretwork is perfect...although I believe its plecked.

The neck it a full, beefy 50s carve...it feels awesome. The rosewood board is nice and dark...with some really nice streaking in it.

The pickups sound GREAT. The pots have great taper.

Its a great playing guitar! Wonderful tone to boot!

You make it sound so good lol. Now I want one   Congrats man!

I own a 19’ , after setting it up to my liking it quickly became my #1 , all I know is I got a damn good one and it will stay with me forever.

Own an 18 and a 19. The 18 I spent a day comparing against many others and picked the best one that I could out of the bunch. The 19 was one I picked up and couldn’t put down - sounded absolutely killer. They’ve stepped up their game and the quality is there.

Sweet looking axe. Is that a off the wall model or some signature one ( asking about the sig on the truss rod cover)

I saw a teaser on Facebook, they are bringing back the white Explorer! (Gear sale coming soon!)

Gibson has really stepped it up from what I have seen and played too. I am glad that they are no longer going down the shitter.

I recently bought 2 les pauls, both was brazilian 59’s painted by tom murphy and im really happy with them, i own a bunch of gibsons but these are some of the best ive ever owned. I would post some pics but photobucket wants me to upgrade my acct and i never really use it anyway.

Me too, I do have a whole in my collection for a P90 guitar. Wonder what the typical weight is on these, can't do heavy guitars and play for 4 hours anymore.

I want a Gibson LP Special DC so bad.

That is a hot guitar!

One nice guitar doesn't equate to a whole company stepping up their game

Thanks bro! That is a standard model. I had the truss rod cover made. I saw an ad in the back of vintage guitar magazine that said make your own truss rod so I went and had those made up just as kind of a joke but they’re kind of fun to

Thanks for all the compliments fellas! I’ll try and get a video posted playing it through my Marshall. My playing sucks but the tone is absolutely fucking incredible

Brent. Local Michigan guy too.
Do you work for Heritage ?
Your collection makes me drool.

I agree. I've gotten nice ones, I've gotten shitty ones.

Man, its killer!
Ive been thinking about one of the double cutaways, but that thing is awesome!
Good to hear that it plays and sounds great, P90's all look alike but there are def better versions and lesser versions.
Believe it or not, I have a Peavey Firenza I got for almost nothing and its got some of the better P90's in it Ive ever heard!
I love P90's, having a Les Paul Special that was TV yellow with them would be too cool

In the words of the great and wise Don Dokken, "You just got lucky."

Jk. Nice guitar, congrats!
