So, I don't get why Gibson doesn't sell the Quick Connect pickups anymore, since they still have current production guitars with them.

Anybody try any aftermarket plug/wiring set ups and wire in Duncans/other?? Honestly, I just want to change out my bridge pickup in my LP Classic. I've looked for a 498T, or 500T, but they're hard to find with the Quick connect in Zebra, and quite frankly, what I have seen are priced crazy.

That quick connect circuit board neuters the tone. I ripped that out of my LP and even with the same pickups, the tone was less congested without it. You won't experience the full benefits of a pickup upgrade with that circuit in there.

Probably true.

I can't imagine that it's much, if any, different but I used an aftermarket harness on an Epi doing the same thing and it worked great. They'll be cheaper on eBay. As far as diminishing tone by virtue of using quick connect systems, I'm not convinced.

Many gear shortcuts seem to be recipes for tone suck, but haven’t tried this one before
