Gibson raided by FBI

Time to genetically engineer trees that have the ability to grow in two years instead of twenty. If we can clone sheep we can do this. Done deal.

Since I literally have not even touched a Gibson in over 20 years all I have to say is...meh.

I recently read an article where the "old growth" spruce supply will be gone in just a few short years. The Gibson, Martin, and Taylor guys went to Alaska to see for themselves, and started a coalition to come up with viable alternatives for guitar building. Looks like this will become more and more of a problem as time goes on

that really doesn't surprise me all that much. as the supply dwindles so will the quality.. but the price will go up.

It takes a long time to grow those types of woods. Putting aside the impact on the environment, in regards to just the woods, when they're gone...they're gone for good...no more guitars made from great sounding premium woods.

i suppose veneer logs will also fall into that category sooner rather than later.

Makes sense to blow the whistle on that guy.
Treat everybody below you like crap, watch the shit fly.

The employees must be loving this.

Wow! Guy sounds like a complete dick. The product is really suffering.
Looks like a warning from employees to stay away from Gibson guitars for the meantime.
I'd stay away until there's new ownership.

norlin did just about the same thing to the company back in about '77 iirc. they made some minor changes from '73 to '76. then they changed product designs.. etc.. became more concerned about profit than quality and people.. and almost drove the brand into the ditch.

Gibson: Forest fuckers.

I would just rather have a composite guitar and suffer the tone loss than wipe out a forest.
