I was typing "That will look good on some lawyers wall" when I saw a new post pop up. It really is the protoypical lawyer guitar though. Any guitarist that knows his shit could find a better choice than that for $10k. You could have a custom Banker made for less than half and get one used for around $2800 or less. You could have guitar pictured...and still have enough money for almost any amp you wanted.

Buying an expensive Explorer is one of the dumber things you could do. Probably the most damage-prone shape out there.

I have an ‘06 Explorer I love but I have accidentally banged that big oblong body on things quite a lot of times. Lots of dings and little chips of paint off the bottom edge. Good thing it’s a used non-lawyer model I paid about $600 for in more sensible times.

Funny I hate the way they play too - it’s how they sit in your lap that I hate. I need my forearm to sit something on like fenders and Les pauls and with an explorer there’s nothing there. Just not my type of guitar.
