Here's a little video from the opening song from my Ozzy tribute OZZ from our show last Saturday night. It was probably my roughest show in my 21 years of gigging. Half my pedal board was without power. Couldn't figure out what was wrong for the life of me. My wah, tuner, OCD and wireless wouldn't work. I was able to do the show without the wireless and OCD and I have a tuner on my G-System. Over all it was a good show. I had recently bought a pedaltrain pro pedalboard and redid my board. Thought I hooked all back up correctly cause I used everything but the wireless at rehearsal with no issues. When I got to sound check was when the problems started. But show must go on. No major problem except for a big tuning issue on one of my guitars. I tune them all to Eb but one somehow I tuned to 440 instead. Needless to say I was completely out of tune from my band when I picked up that guitar. Had to stop the song and start over most embarrassing thing ever. Ugh. So last night I went through my board to try to figure out what the hell was wrong. Well I figured it out. I power most of my 9v pedals from the G-System's 9v power supplies. Which supplies 200 milliamps. Well I guess when I redid my board I ran my G50 wireless which requires 300 milliamps off the G-system instead of its own power supply. So it was robbing all my other pedals of power and wasn't getting enough power itself to work. Needless to say I feel stupid and amateurish. I guess we all have bad nights right? Well the show was still a success and everyone had a good time which is that really matters I suppose.

You guys sound great to my ears too... too bad rock doesn't bring in the crowds it used to. Same ol $hitty bands playing all the same stuff at places I go to. EVH, 5153 holds up great in that vid.

One question though, why not more delay in the leads? I find washing it out 80's style makes everything sound better! Lynch style!

I think it souned great - singer sounds a lot like Ozzy

I like how you don't even try to look like Randy. Joe Holmes maybe?

sounded good man! Takes a real pro to overcome technical difficulties and still put on a good show!

I do use a fair amount if delay on the leads but not much on that particular tune though. I try to keep the effects pretty much the way they were on the song. They delay is on there but I'm using the ducker delay on my G-System which brings the delay back in the mix a bit through fast picked passages and leaves it more in the mix for trail offs.

Well I'm 6' 3" and about 207 lbs so I definitely cannot pull off a good Randy look. LOL! Generally after the third our fourth song I put on a black fitted OZZ ball cap on backwards so my hair gets out of my face. So maybe a cross between Joe and Gus? I don't know. We're more of a tribute to Ozzy himself more so than the whole band since our singer really pulls off the vocals so well.

A nice surprise was my buddy Rusty Cooley who is a big Rhoads fan making it out to our show and giving me a big thumbs up and stamp of approval on my performance!

Thanks for sharing the experience. I have to make sure I don't do the same thing with my pedalboard
The EVH sounded great and you nailed the shit. Did you mic both cabs? The guitar sounded nice and huge and the solo really cut through

I used to mic both cabs but lately I've been using a Radial JDX Amplifier DI box on one of the cabs which sends a direct signal to the board. The Radial units has a nice midrange cut so mixed with my other cab mic'ed with a 57 gives a nice mix out front.

Damn your singer really has the look and sound of Ozzy down pretty good.
You guys sound all great as a band!

Thanks man. Having a lot of fun jamming with these guys. I'm kind of coming full circle. Ozzy's guitar players and music is how I learned to play guitar so getting to play it on this level is a lot of fun.
