Finally got to a small gig (150 folks-ish) with my SLO and Mesa 50/50 and dayuuuum it was loud…. Good loud though. The mix to me felt good. Even with the drums and base. I could feel the SLO in my chest which is new to me for my tone. I was glad to get out and start gigging again. Felt a bit weird at first but after a song or two it was back on like donkey schlong.

A SLO loves to be cranked. My 5150 II is a whole different animal at 4-6.5 than it is at bedroom or quieter extended band practice levels.

Congrats on loving the new amp! Is this a newer one or older one?

New to me 2017 build. When I was a teen in late 80s I wanted shit but obviously couldn’t afford anything but an E-series Strat which I love and a fender garbage amp that I made work. Over time I have been able to buy a few more things. Tempted by the synergy for ease of live but always knowing I wanted the real thing I just had to have it. There was a dude in East Tennessee that had the entire full stack for 5k. “I’ll take that”. I don’t use the cabs. Just too much. But there in my studio to look at me like cattle in a field. I really need some type of dBs reduction device. Thinking Fryette. But I got time. Someone mentioned a ClearSonic device like Bonamassa uses…. I would think the SLO would blow that shit away. ?. Once the master is on 3; it’s like the dark energy from Darth Vader.

Nice ! I checked out a new SLO this weekend. Very nice sounding amp, great choice

You mentioned the Mesa 50/50. Running W/D/W? How are cabs configured?

I really like the sound and features of the suhr reactive box.
The standard Suhr rl box can be modded with a high cut switch like the rlir version, very useful when reamping with a tube amp as your power amp.

While most amps sound better cranked up, it’s amazing how some seem to change more drastically than others.

W/d/w. The upper cab is a custom made stereo cab out of Nashville with a veteran 30 speaker and an ET65 from warehouse. The 50/50 and fractal go to that.. the slo goes dry into to Mesa 2x12 cab. I have some OD and boosts as well as EQs for it.

Picking up a SLO30 later this week. Supposed to anyway. Glad to hear the gig went well!
I’m stuck in the 80s so this amplifier is for me. Not odd I guess but it does some really nice clean stuff to glassy grit. I’m enamored with the sounds I get. I got a long way to go. Thank god I didn’t get it as a teen. My life would be waaay different… maybe.

Sweet! Damn that's some serious fire power for a small place.... Enormous sonic footprint right there ... you might consider going with just one 2x12 each and some low efficiency speakers to tame the volume a bit. You could also just get a Fryette Power Station for volume reduction and use it for a wet cab send as well, ditch the Mesa altogether. The Soldano on its own would be killer. You have any clips from that night?

I’ll need a bit of time getting the vids that I have. Sadly cells are only on for recording but you get the gist. Velcro-fly: Tell me how to upload a video here. And I can start this afternoon after work.

Is it one of the new B.A.D. built soldanos or one of the older ones?

Pretty sure you need to do it via YouTube.....

I was just going to ask about the Level knob on the back but if you have the older version it does not have that feature. Your will always be deafening ly loud. For indoor I bet you did not have the volume past 1.2? I have owned 2 Slo 100's and have settled on a Slo 30 -new version with more useable MV sweep

BTW used many OD's into the front and the $39 boss Sd-1 is best. So many tones with leaving the Level all the way up and the gain anywhere from 0 to just below noon -for the crunch that is! The key to these amps for my classic hard rock/shred tone is dialing in the crunch ch. More clarity there.

Nice rig! It is cool seeing a Fender Contemporary Strat too.
Prolly my all time best playing guitar. I like my JEM for tone better and 24 frets but the Strat will be buried with me.
