They announced that he was very I'll a week ago.
He was a phenomenal drummer. They are all going one by one now adays.

He never looked healthy when he played in Cream. He made it to eighty, not bad at all! R.I.P. Ginger.

Bummer, R.I.P. to the original bad boy of rock ‘n roll.

Definitely won't be forgotten by this guitarist.

Cream, I'll never forget hearing the '68 song "White Room" at the age of 10 - blew my mind.

On a side note, I never really found Clapton impressive after that without the crew. His solo attempt was a serious departure from his roots. Lackluster at best in comparison. Then Eric decided (similar to Halford) to do a PR image reset and morphed into a preppy (former heroin addict) aristocrat with tortoise shell frames. Not too bad, but no Crossroads.

IMO, this is what put Eric on the map. It's all Eric, his trusty ES-335 (or occasional SG back then), his tenor pipes and some late '60s classic hard core blues rock.

Great Great Drummer and a character for sure. Glad Cream reunited when they still could.
