D.A.M. - Mothers Against Dyslexia
I was completely thrown off by the title and a little dyslexia, ha :) Guess I've been in tone search mode far too much recently...
I was thinking:
Alder (Alnus rubra):

Agree on the Phil Rudd comments as well. That guy has these little subtly nuances to his playing and the way he would accentuate with cymbals or bring the kick in at certain points. Really made the guitars pop. That said, the old bald guy they have mostly used since the thunderstruck days is pretty damn spot on. I like him too.

Adler and Izzy are unique and brought more to the table than many may realize. Hard to replace those guys...you may find more talented in some ways but not better.....at least not better for that band. That original line up was special and the best lineup they have had.

Yep Steve is a Badass ...

What an amazing "before" that is on what drugs can do to someone. He now looks like he's had a stroke. Has he?

Yes. I met him at NAMM a few years ago. He's recovered, but he still talks kind of funny.

2 more mentions:

Judas Priest with Les Binks
Iron Maiden with Clive Burr

Both brought the groovy, almost jazz-like feel to heavy metal.

And of course 100% agree on Adler and Phil Rudd.

Adler is one of the greats, I always said the push and the pull from Adler was gone.
here is a good example, it's Adlers Appetite, go to 1:25 give it a fair listen you can hear it.

I hope they give him a chance to prove that he can stay sober and do a whole tour with him or at least write an album with him on drums. He definitely was a big part of their swing and rhythm in their songs. They've had some good drummers in the band but he fits so much better. I heard a recent interview with him where he was pretty disappointed they only used him for a handful of songs on the tour. I understand their concern given his past and that much money going into a huge tour but there's that part of me that really pulls for him making a comeback from all his issues.
