well, we all know Ron Thal (Bumblefoot) is extremely talented so don't discount him yet. so he had a costume malfunction with the helmet. if you gig enough, we've all had some laughable moments on stage.

This, I couldnt believe that it was Ron Thal up there. Ive seen that guy play many times and hes so good its scary. Technique and feel up the whazoo and hell one time I watched him playing a fretless with a bunch of open chords that were perfectly intonated while singing and playing a Kazoo LOL!!!!

Seriously, Im still amazed that that was Ron on the vid...

I can understand him putting the helmet on if a fan threw it to him, but as soon as it was messing with his playing he should've just thrown it away and stuck to nailing his parts IMO. He also could've just partied a little more than he'd intended, playing rock in rio is a big deal, probably some celebrating going on etc.

Ron Thal rules. If you think he is the problem with the atrocity that was posted by the OP, you have more problems than Axl. That band is not GNR it is AXL and he just sucks now. He sounds as bad as he looks. Ron is one of the best out there, and a nice dude as well. He has one of those zany personality types, which comes out in his music. That stupid mask kept falling off...big deal. There are two other guitar players and a giant band and they all suck collectively. On their best day they aren't the sweat on the near comatose ass that GNR was on their worst heroin induced show.

This is one of my favorite Bumblefoot songs. He starts to go off at around the 3:00 mark.
