Bad ass!!!

I can't remember, are you able to bridge both sides for 200 watts?

9200 is 5881 / 6L6, which I have with the Engl; why I wanted the EL34 100/100. I tend to associate El34 with Marshall.
Yes. I liked the EL34 Version more. :) But later i also had the Engl E850/100 :D And the 530 and the 570 and so on :D What Preamps are you using with it?

I had the Engl E530 preamp. I plan to use it with my ISP Theta Pro MS and/or ISP Theta MSX; I still have a TriAxis and ADA MP-2 (my main one from back in the day), and a Tech21 PSA 2.0; but I may get another JMP-1 again....not sure; lots of old preamps around. I still have a Helix Floor I can use with it too.

well checked out the power amp; channel A had no volume, no noise, until the gain was maxed, and it was very low.

It could be a loose or bad power tube, or something more serious.

The GC manager wasn't in the store, and I asked the associate if we can take the cover off and check the tubes, to be sure the tubes are not loose and if it didn't help, we could swap the channel B tubes (channel B worked) into channel A...he said we don't touch anything with tubes. I said well, if it's a loose or bad tube, and it works I'll take it; if it's something more serious, then I'd want to return it.

He said the manager will be in the store this morning and to call the store in the morning. So as soon as the store opened, I called and spoke to the manager. I asked if he would check for loose or damaged tubes / swap the channel B tubes, and he said I already refunded your purchase (before the store opened). So, I left it at that.

My luck it would be the channel A output transformer...not worth the risk; but at least try checking the tubes!?

You made the right decision to return it.

I retubed and biased one of those for a guy I worked with, that power amp was not that impressive for the hype. If I were you I'd look at that Peavey Classic 120/120 that Spiderwars has for sale. Those are very well built, huge transformers and have performed flawlessly for years but with that said even that one is probably need a full electrolytic recap. I just sold a Peavey Classic 50/50 that got used regularly with the original caps and tubes and the power amp ran quiet with no issues but I told the buyer if I were him I would recap it and off he went happy after playing it for over an hour.

If you want something new or newer then the Fryette 2/90/2's or 2/50/2's may be something to look at as well. They come up used for around 1K.

Nice amp! I have the 9200 5881 variant. That fucker is 70lbs. I had to move all my amps out of a part of the house the other day, and the cabs were bad enough, but then I tried to move the rack. It has a Monster Pro 3500 power conditioner on top, a few single space preamps or fx units, and then a Peavey Classic 60/60 and my Marshall 9200 right below it. I was only able to lift it after removing the 2 power amps and power conditioner.

I bet your mailman HATES you lol

I'm going to keep looking for an EL34 two-channel power amp; I have my Eng E850/100 which is a dual 100W power amp with 6L6.

I know where one of these is. One of my best buds from my youth and one of the best guitar players I ever knew had one. He died of a drug overdose about 6 years ago. His daughter has all his guitars and amps. She don't play, but she ain't coming off any of it though so.....

I remember it being just ok. I mean I never gave it a workout, just listened to him through it. It sounded ok, but nothing earth shattering.
