it seems to sound pretty good so I'm giving it a shot. Should be fun to mess around with. with the return policy figured it was worth a go!

I like my LT, but almost certainly would have bought the stomp instead had it been out at that time. Don't expect the presets to sound good, particularly in the high gain department. I also highly recommend going straight to 3rd party IR's- the free ownhammer pack is good. You can get good results with the stock cabs and a lot of tweaking, but I found it to be more trouble than it was worth.

That's how I felt when I bought my first fractal. Now I use the AX8 everyday.

This guy I follow on youtube, put a HX Stomp video up earlier, I was checking it out. Really great tones. He talks about it in a gigging aspect too, which I think is cool...I have always been a Line 6 fan (still use a ux-1 for recording ideas).

It's all fun & games until someone gets hurt! "It worked great at home!"

I got mine yesterday and I’m totally honeymooning. It doesn’t sound as good as Fractal stuff to me, but I’ve had three dips into the Axe FX world and while the sounds are there, having to lug around racks, power amps, monitors, etc didn’t save much space and actually cost more than most of my amp/cab rigs. The Stomp, maybe paired with a Powerstage 170 is the compact and lightweight Swiss Army knife I was wanting, and so far I’m definitely impressed with the sound after loading in my own IRs.

im mainly getting it to record heavy rhythm guitars. i dont have isolation so i have to do a lot of adjusting to get the rhythm tones i like. solos are ez. with my plexi and boost i can point the mic about anywhere and get a tone i like. the rhythms are finnicky for me for some reason
