I know Don's singing has seen better days but what the hell, I never seen Dokken back in the day so I am going now...LOL! They are both going to hang it up after this tour.....unless they pull a Kiss and keep going and going and going.....:p

Enjoy!

Funny you mention Kiss with Dokken...that tour back in 84 was the one time I saw either band. I went just to see George shred though...but, have to admit, Kiss was GREAT. And I'm not a Kiss fan.
Did also see George on the second Lynch Mob tour with Robert Mason on vocals...killer show.

So you are going to see spoken word Dokken with George playing guitar. Honestly, I feel so embarassed for both of them.. I love George but this feels so desperate. I can't understand why he would agree to this. It isn't like it even draws huge interest or crowds and i am pretty sure he doesn't really like Don. George should just do a final tour of Dokken songs only with real singers. That's somethign people would want to see. Half the Lynch Mob show was that anyway.

They do it for the fans who constantly want Lynch playing those tunes... Know Jon Levin personally, (I still need my picks back Jon :D) and last time Don was in town, caught them and was sharing some spirits... Don's voice hasn't been the same since he tore his vocals...

Reality is, there are still people who will always want the original lineup. Do they sound like they did? obviously not... but even on YT sometimes they capture some of that magic on some of those tunes and it brings back memories....

Pretty sure that Don still gigs because he has to financially. George agrees to play a few songs per show because he is getting paid, and Don knows that more tickets will be sold if George is there. This is a business move. I get it but I agree that Don should not be playing shows anymore.

I think for George, he likes playing and those are his songs and he can stay close to the history. I am sure he feels bad for Don a bit too. Regardless of their past, I think they have mellowed from the old rants, etc.

Id go for sure. Gotta meet folks where they're at in life.
I saw DOKKEN 43 yrs ago Mississippi Nights St. Louis landing, fantastic.
Still doin it, good for them.

Well..... Don pulled a Don Dokken....the show was advertised as if George Lynch was playing the entire show.....George came out at the end of the show and played 3 songs:thumbsdown:.....

Jon Levin played the entire show.....he kicked ass as always and his Marshall DSL's sounded great, he always has great tone and he had a ripping main solo..........George played well with fire but his the first amp he plugged into had issues and had no gain, so he then plugged into Jon Levin's amp with George's pedalboard and the amp tone had less gain, growl and grind than when Levin was playing through it.:dunno:

The crowd would occasionally shout WHERE's George but they stayed respectful for the most part......Don's best moment was doing an interlude of 'THE END' by the Doors, he actually did that well with that one sounded quite like Morrison..... The bass player earned his money singing backup with Don all night.

The band was good and I enjoyed the show but I knew not too expect much out of Don but he did alright.
