Pulled from a vintage Road cab. 8 ohms each. I used to really like these, but I got bitten by the EVM bug, and now I really don't. So it goes. Not entirely sure about the year these were made, but the guy who sold me the cab claimed he got it new with the speakers in the 70's, and since these speakers weren't made until the 80's, presumably he misspoke and meant late 80's. The Carvin museum says these started to be produced in '89. They definitely show their age, being fairly dirty with discolored dust-caps and some liquid stains, though they still work great as far as I can tell and the cones appear to be in good condition with only a few non-aesthetic blemishes, see pictures for details. I can clean the speakers up a little before we meet, I just wanted the pictures to show the condition I took them from so I left most of the dirt, dust, etc. on.

$25 for the quad, or trade for 'em. Trade items I'm most interested in (but not exclusively) are guitar amp parts/projects. E.g., old tube PA's you never got around to doing something with, that salvaged chassis that's just been taking up space, etc. That, and effects pedals. Local-pickup only. I'm located in Los Angeles Country, California. Will sell/trade individual speakers too, $10 each.

Pictures are spread across multiple posts because of the 10-attachment limit. Speakers have been dusted since the pictures were taken. Below is the first driver, which has the worst, most apparent staining and the dirtiest cone so far:

Magnet sticker. Multiple pictures because it's a little faded and hard to read:

Pictures of the second driver. Separate post because I hit the attachment limit.

The back appears to be dirtier than the first's, I didn't see that when inspecting the speaker while it was still loaded. You can also see the sticker is starting to lift a bit on the left and right sides (look for the crease to see where it starts) :

Cone is cleaner, but does have some heavier dust bunnies at the bottom and a splotchier dust cap. I think the lighter area at the bottom of the speaker is dirt and dust that's on the cone, there might also be some light liquid staining there too, I can't quite tell:

Found a small dent in the surround when I got up close to take these pictures:

Think this picture was supposed to show a small rough spot in the doping, but I'm having a hard time seeing it. I think it's between the red fleck and the dark spot. The dent off on the left is the one shown in the pictures above.

Also found a couple spots on the back of the cone that look like they have staining once I flipped the driver over:

Alright, time to go unload the other two and photograph them.

Third driver.
Back sticker is starting to peel, and there is dirt on this one too. Basket is a bit difficult to see here because of the reflective sticker messing with my camera. See other pictures for dust 'n dirt.

<EDIT 20230913>
Forgot to provide a cone shot. Here it is, this time I was able to capture the dirt and dust bunnies instead of it just showing up as lighter areas on the cone:

Also checked the magnet more closely when I took the cone shot, and this is the biggest chip I could find

Solder tabs and basket shot:

One driver left to go.

Fourth and final driver!

Sticker is peeling, again:

Cone is dirty, but not the worst:

Did catch what looks like a small crease where the cone meets the surround while inspecting for pictures:

This one has some liquid stains too I think? It looks a bit different, maybe it's just the fibers lying differently?:

Magnet sticker and terminals:

Finally, noticed a chip in the magnet while I was handling it. Didn't notice any on the other drivers, but maybe I missed them. I'll have to check again after some sleep. :

Show them all please.
Alright, think I fixed it. Tried to error on the side of too many pictures this time. Ended up finding some things I was not aware of in the process of photographing the drivers (staining on the back of the cone, dent, etc.), and updated the original post as needed.

Price drop. I bought the gear I planned to pay for with this sale cheaper than planned.

Further price cuts after flipping other gear. $100 for the quad. For those wondering, these are basically an earlier version of an eminence legend model. I don't know which, but I can dig up the TS parameters for interested parties.

Noted. Just wanted to make sure no one could say things were misrepresented, guess I was writing for a reverb audience.

Intrested will you ship them
Yes, though I need to find out how much extra that costs. Might literally double the list price, as last time I shipped a speaker (SoCal to Pacific Northwest) it was about $25-$30 for just the one. On top of that, I think I need to buy some boxes and packing material this time around as I don't have any appropriate boxes lying around. Let me know your city or zip (either here or in DMs) and I'll get a shipping quote for you.

Randy decided to pass. Will ship now via pirate ship (US only), $100 extra worst case per their quotes, if you live closer to LA, California than Van Buren, Maine (my worst case estimate) it could be significantly cheaper, message me your zip code and I can find out. I plan to put these up on Reverb and/or Ebay, but if a member here indicates interest I'll take down the listings on those sites.

Also, took a few more close-ups of some other blemishes I noticed while packing. Nothing critical in my experience using the speakers, but included here for completeness. Two of them are just tiny blemishes, the other is a crease that runs along the circumference of the cone/surround glue joint for a bit. When moving the cone in and out with my hands, that crease flexes a little instead of the surround.
