So, I'm wanting to get a smaller rig to play in the house. Thinking of getting a Randall RD20 or maybe even the Blackstar ID60 head. Looking for a good 1x12. I have been eyeing a Mesa 1x12, even though they are kinda pricey for such a small cab. But if they deliver the goods then I guess that's the price I pay. Not really after volume here as it's never going to be gigged with or ever leave the house. So i'm asking for the opinions of anyone that has also decided to go down the 1x12 route and what they ended up with and what made them pick that over something else.

Thanks guys!

I am using a pair of Bogner 1x12 with my EVH 5150 III and my Mark V

It sounds big and smooth.

How are the Bogner's compared to a Boogie? I really think that the biggest draw to the Boogies for me is the Brit made V30's. I've often thought about going down the Avatar route but I keep reading mixed reviews about them. Plus I can't decipher the difference between all their different types of cabs. Traditional, vintage, contemporary, blah blah blah.

The Bogner 1x12's are great and so are Suhr 1x12's.

I have 2 of the Recto 1x12 V30 cabs...sound pretty decent to me. Don't sound like a good 2x12 or 4x12 though...

Mesa Thiele 1x12 with the 200 watt EVM 12L. The simple trick is to use 2 of them, then you might not miss your 4x12. A pair of them sounds HUGE.

I have a Mesa widebody 1x12 3/4 back. Best 1 x12 I have heard. I paid Around 250 used, unloaded, not a bad price IMO.

I would go with Bogner if it were me. I love their cabs and they always work well for me and what I do. Friedman is basically the same cab.

I've got a Diesel 112 ported widebody I don't know if they still make them but it's a great sounding cab. I picked up a MESA v30 to go in it. I use it for practice at TV volumes and it really gets the job done. It sounds good loud as well but I've got a 412 if I want loud.

Avatar (any of them, but I had a Contemporary that was great), Mesa Thiele, Mesa vertical 1x12 (think it was a recto model), Orange.

To me, the Port City is the king of the 1x12s. I've had the Mesa, Bogner and Avatar and none of them compare.

I went through a lot of 1x12 cabs before deciding on the Forte 3D 1x12s, which are a long way better than any others I have had. The second best was an Orange PPC112 with an Eminence Super V 150 watt speaker. It sounded massive for a 1x12!!

The mesa front ported 1x12 with the black shadow is pretty nuts. I just got it to pair up with my mark 5 and it sounds massive when cranked. I also have the 1x12 lonestar compact cab and thats pretty good as well. You cant go wrong with any well known company like mesa and bogner. I wouldnt bother with avatar, you can find a used mesa or bogner cab for what you would pay for a new avatar.

Don't forget Splawn or V Boutique. Top-tier craftsmanship and the prices are great.

The Avatar Vintage cabs sound great.

Egnater Rebel 1x12 sounds big for its size and easy on the pocket book. The oversized 1x12 that matched the Mod50 made by mojotone sounds even better but are hard to find.

Holy shit, you guy were supposed to make this easier for me! Now I've got even more options to pick from than I had originally thought of. Sweet! I had no idea that Splawn made a 1x12! I loved my Splawn rig that I had. I might have to look into those now. Thanks guys!
