Hey guys....I have fallen in love with WCR pickups. I have a WCR 2003 Goodwood in my LP but I rarely use a neck pickup so I don't want to waste money on expensive neck pickups. Instead, I want to find a used neck bucker in the 8-8.5k range. Closest I can find is Rio Grande Texas or Buffalo bucker?

Duncan 59 bridge in the neck?

???

Thanks!

Dimarzio Super 2. 8.7K but super hot and clean/glassy. D-Activator neck is 7.22K. If you can handle a slight drop in power the PAF PRO is 8.4K. I'd personally go with Super 2.

paf pro.
duncan 59 neck..

there's a bunch out there...depends what you want from it.

I believe the SD 59/Custom Hybrid is right around 9k, supposed to be pretty articulate as well. I think the "hot" label is a bit misleading for 9-9.5k, but that also depends on what wire is used, magnets, etc. Humbucker from Hell is pretty clear from what I understand as well, SD Jazz, Screamin' Demon and Full Shred are supposed to be articulate as well, but maybe a little low on the resistance compared to what you asked for.

My personal favorite neck pickup is the Dimarzio Paf Pro. It's very clear and articulate. It has the potential for lots of bass too, without becoming flubby.

Anderson H2+

Loved by many in the bridge. I have one in the neck slot. Really good, splits well. The H3+ in the bridge is a good compliment.

Sounds like folks are mixing up resistance and output again. Higher resistance does not necessarily mean higher output. Use your ears to make a decision rather than relying on reading some numbers.

Duncan's '59, Jazz, and Pearly Gates are all great, articulate neck pickups.
From Dimarzio, the PAF Pro is cool but a bit smoother with more mids and softer highs. The Super 2 is super high output yet very clear sounding. The Evo neck is hot and very articulate.

I just put a Dimarzio Liquifier in the neck position of my Hamer USA Diablo. It's resistance is 10.7k and the signal is HOT!!! Lots of clarity, not flubby at all, I could play rhythm on it if I wanted to but I only use the neck pickup for a few solos. This pickup delivers very fluid lead tones. Lots of sustain and harmonics. I'm fast becoming a DiMarzio fan!!!

It matches very well with the Tone Zone I put in the bridge position.

Maybe it doesn't need to be hot....just needs to match well with the WCR Godwood or Cherry bucker till I can afford WCR neck pickups. I will probably just go with Gibson neck pickups like the BB Pro neck which is my all time favorite Gibson neck pickup, assuming the polarity is OK with the 2003 Goodwood and new Godwood.
