In light of the Yaron disaster.....something good did come my way. Safe and sound and in a proper box and a proper case. These are my pets. The LP could have had a seat at the table..... :D

My two Ken Lawrence Explorers....there's guitars, and there's guitars - then there are Ken Lawrence Explorers.

Glad it arrived safely, i will miss that guitar but i ordered another KL, the wait time is long but its worth it. Ken builds some of the best sounding and playing guitars i have ever played. Im glad it went to a good home.

With babies like that I don't even know why you need the Yaron. They even come with their own attached headstock ! For me having a Kl Exp is like having the Graal.

I'd take two KL's over a Yaron any day.

Nice axes Steve!

Do you have more pics of the inlays (not on the stealth one ;) )? I've always been impressed with his work.

Very nice!! Congrats and great job packing KL!!!!!! GY should take a lesson!!

Maybe you can talk KL into building his version of a less Paul?

KL built a les paul shaped guitar for hetfield, hes also made a couple strats and a prs style guitar, there might be a tele and sg shape i thought i seen once. Im a fan of the couple V shaped guitars ken built, i thought they looked awesome. Ken has did some bass shapes that looked different and more original styled designs, not everything ken builds with his bass are copied, even though hes made alot of guitars he is still considered a bass builder and thats where he started and what hes built the most of.

KL's LP. Quite special, but the craftsmanship seems second to none.

Steve-o....those KL's are Bad ass....
in my opinion...that Gil Les paul can have a seat at the CHILDRENS TABLE.

If anyone deserves GOOD KARMA......its you Brother.

What an unreal LP.... Stunning. Do you ever play it without armed security?

That is the coolest custom LP I have ever seen. The dragon is phenomenal.

I remember seeing a thread a few years back with a KL explorer that the tip of the headstock broke off during shipping.
If I remember it was repaired and you couldn't tell it was repaired. Harmony Central maybe?

There was a KL explorer for sale here within the last 12 months with some headstock damage.

Maybe the same guitar?
Was definetly a NGD thread. I think it was sent back for a repair by KL.

If we are talking about the same one, I think that was one that Ryan (Hoff) bought from a guy in Singapore or somewhere in SE Asia. The guy shipped it in a Gibson sized Explorer case. The headstock is a bit too long and rests against the end of the case. You can't do that! I believe the body was more of a natural color, not black though. It was repaired by Ken though and I think was more cosmetic than anything. Ken told me has repaired Het's several times.

Yep.

That was it. Hoff is selling some nice gear.

I would buy another KL Explorer in a heartbeat. Would love for Ken to build some V's. He did the prototype for James.

Are you referring to the V he made for some customer, and then the customer decided to have ken give it to hetfield as a gift? At least thats what Ken posted on Facebook
